World of Cydia

Welcome to Sileen

The kingdom of Cydia invaded the Moonsfall Mountains in order to get to the gold discovered in the northern part of the mountains. Unfortunately the native shifters were all quite overwhelmed and have been being displaced, (Think native Americans)

Nyxia and Grig joined up with a caravan heading to the west to seek their much advertised fortunes. Unfortunately they found themselves in the small town of Sileen Without much to do.

Tiales was helping the rest of his village pack up their stuff when he was approached by some of the natives of his village filled with ideas of revenge. He and the barbarian in training Edward decided to undertake their terrorism independently as the other group that night.

After putting out the fire inside the inn Grig and rush out into street to be met by burning buildings and wolves.

Upon approching the street Tiales notices a robed figure that catches his attention when he is hit by a mental blast and turns and charges Grig and Nyxia.

After a short fight, with Edward knocking Tiales to his senses they kill the wolves.

They run down the street and are joined by Toki as they and the town guards fight off the remaining shifters and wolves in this area.

Where do we go?

Tiales and Edward spoke to the village elder who told them that what they saw was a werewolf, and that if he could influence the minds of their race that easily he must be stopped.

Grig and Nyxia were commissioned by the guard captain to go seek out the attackers and put a stop to them for a reward of 200g.

They met each other in town and decided to join forces, Toki tagged along because its the right thing to do and Tiales seemed interesting.

After a 3 day journey that took 5 days because Tiales is bossy and can’t navigate the came upon a cave.

Shrine

The cave was an old shrine to Melora, and was filled with shifters and wolves. The humanoids wore tunics with the symbol of Bane on them, and graphiti praising him was defiling the walls.

When they reached the final room they discovered the robed figure that Tiales had glimpsed. He was definitely a werewolf, and after a hard battle the group emerged victorious.

They left the shrine and made it back to Sileen uneventfully.

Light of the Sun

Tiales talked to the shifter elder, who urged him to go out and find the people responsible for this. Toki remembers a cult of Bane in the south that he suspects is responsible.

Grig and Nyxia went to collect their reward and were confronted by a cleric named Emesha who wished to talk with them and their companions.

She told them her order has been going village to village defending them from the Hand of Naarash, but still the cult’s strength grows. A year ago before these new vilages were even established they send a paladin named Jaryn to strike at the guild. Last they heard from him was 6 months ago from a sending ritual. Because of the party’s actions she was hopeful that the party might undertake a search for him and his group.

He was headed to the Pillars of the Night via a path called The Black March. The party will need the find the black march to find Jaryn.

After some haggling, the party agreed to go. They were given 200g operating fund that the small group of clerics had for supplies and they prepare to set off.

They travel several weeks stop at various villages to ask for information, unfortunatly they spend a lot of time lost and don’t learn that much of use other then Jaryn came through here about 9 months ago. As they party moves south they come upon some burned villages and eventually reach one where an old man named Perren Auldwyl comes out to meet them.

He invites them into his home and prepares food, every time the party tries to steer the conversation to the cult he changes the subject abruptly. In the middle of the meal there are hoofbeats and the sound of shouting from outside.

Two large shifters break in the door, flanked by a sorcerer and some archers. There is a battle through Perren’s house as the party fights off the group. After a large battle and the house almost burning down Perren reveals that the vilagers were assisting the cult in smuggling weapons in exchange for their safty, and the party may have doomed them all.

The party tries to learn where The Black March is from the villagers, but are only given a vague direction to the west, into the foothills of the mountains, and they set off.

The Crimson Blight (2/11/2010)

The party of Rahzier, Ptah, Bort and Onyx made their way to the end of the graveyard after fending off hordes of cursed beings. Upon reaching the end of the graveyard, they came upon a graveplot devoted to a deseased warrior named Dullahan . Through a triggered magic effect, Dullahan rose and engaged the party in combat. The party emerged victorious and moved down the hill and onto a bridge, the castle silhouetted in the distance. They began their trek across the bridge but were soon followed by large ape like skeletons that threw exploding barrels at the bridge, causing it to begin a chain reaction and collapse the bridge. The party ran far enough ahead of the falling rocks to save themselves from plummeting into the ravine. The party was then engaged by monsters who had climbed up the sides of the bridge. The battle was quickly won, but soon after, exploding skulls launched themselves at the party, striking the bridge behind them, thus continuing the bridge’s destruction. The party made it to the other side of the bridge and was met by more possessed evils that were quickly dispatched. They made their way to the gates of the castle that was guarded by a huge suit of inanimate armor. The walls were lined with smaller suits of armor, all of them broken or ruined except one. Onyx moved past the large guardian to open the door, but his touch awoke the sleeping constructs and they attacked the party. The party exhausted the last of their energy felling the towering enemy. They used the pieces of the construct to bar the door and relying on the collapsed bridge to protect them on their other side, rested. When they entered the castle. they came upon an ornate richely decorated ballroom full of dancers and finery. At the head of the ball stood 3 figures, a cloaked figure, a finely dressed drow, and a beautiful human woman. After noting that the dancers and party guests would take no notice of the party, they moved to the front of the room. Ptah stepped forward and explained their purpose for being at the masters castle, Rahzier and Onyx protested to consorting with such obvious evil, but Ptah sought a peaceful solution. Ptah challenged the master of the castle to a gentlemen’s duel for information against the wager of the party having to scale the castle and its traps. The duel was closely fought but in the end the master of the castle, who’s identity was now known to be Count Bahvaan, won the duel and banished his magical guests from the ballroom leaving behind ruins and corpses. The party made their way into the first room of the castle. Ptah and Bort warned of the requirement for caution while making thier way through the halls, sadly Onyx did not listen and smashed through a trapped door, spraying the party with necrotic energy, and then made his way into the next room activating a panel on the floor that caused blades to fly and crisscross the length of the room. Ptah quickly disabled the trap before any real damage could be done and the party moved down the hall through another door onyx smashed down. At the end of the hall, Onyx heard speaking through the door, and smashed his way through again. The monsters inside were easily finished off as the party began its quest through the castle of the vampire.
