Tiales talked to the shifter elder, who urged him to go out and find the people responsible for this. Toki remembers a cult of Bane in the south that he suspects is responsible.
Grig and Nyxia went to collect their reward and were confronted by a cleric named Emesha who wished to talk with them and their companions.
She told them her order has been going village to village defending them from the Hand of Naarash, but still the cult’s strength grows. A year ago before these new vilages were even established they send a paladin named Jaryn to strike at the guild. Last they heard from him was 6 months ago from a sending ritual. Because of the party’s actions she was hopeful that the party might undertake a search for him and his group.
He was headed to the Pillars of the Night via a path called The Black March. The party will need the find the black march to find Jaryn.
After some haggling, the party agreed to go. They were given 200g operating fund that the small group of clerics had for supplies and they prepare to set off.
They travel several weeks stop at various villages to ask for information, unfortunatly they spend a lot of time lost and don’t learn that much of use other then Jaryn came through here about 9 months ago. As they party moves south they come upon some burned villages and eventually reach one where an old man named Perren Auldwyl comes out to meet them.
He invites them into his home and prepares food, every time the party tries to steer the conversation to the cult he changes the subject abruptly. In the middle of the meal there are hoofbeats and the sound of shouting from outside.
Two large shifters break in the door, flanked by a sorcerer and some archers. There is a battle through Perren’s house as the party fights off the group.
After a large battle and the house almost burning down Perren reveals that the vilagers were assisting the cult in smuggling weapons in exchange for their safty, and the party may have doomed them all.
The party tries to learn where The Black March is from the villagers, but are only given a vague direction to the west, into the foothills of the mountains, and they set off.
